The pedestrian connection is comprised of three sections:
1. Open pedestrian walkway with tunnel portal and pre-portal section – The length of the walkway is 94,56m, including the pre-portal platform. The width is 4m, including the pedestrian lane of 3,68m width and concrete curbs on both sides of 0,16m width each.
Preliminary consolidation of portal tunnel section – pipe umbrella. During the excavation and consolidation of the first 10 m of the tunnel section, execution took place of strengthened preliminary consolidation of the arch of the tunnel excavation via grouting pipe umbrella of 10 m length, in a fan-like fashion, in the zone of the halo of the heading.
2. Underground pedestrian tunnel executed under the NATM – The tunnel has a length of 202,8 m. The tunnel plan is in a straight line, with longitudinal grade of - 3,9%. The cross section has an oval shape, necessitated by the execution technology selected as most suitable – New Austrian Method. The width in the section of the pedestrian pavement is approximately 4.20m. The clear cross section profile of the tunnel is outlined by a radius of 2.14 m. Due to the great length, a moving walkway is also envisioned in the tunnel.
3. Vertical communications block. Vertical shaft. Building - Constructed with a joint next to the existing metro station and located underground. This overcomes the displacement of 14.10 m and executes the connection with the vestibule space. It represents a deep concrete shaft, containing two elevators, stairwell, and technical premises. The clear cross section of the shaft has an arched oval shape formed by a circle curve with radius of 6.10m and a linear section along the border of contact with the existing groove wall. The building represents a three floor steel reinforced concrete closed wall construction with total height of 20,12m. According to the plan the building possesses an arched oval shape formed by a circle curve with radius of 6.0m and linear section. The vertical connection between the tunnel and Metro Station 19 is executed via dual staircase and two elevators.
