Annex 16 was signed for the project: “Stabilization of the heel of quay wall of Port terminal Vidin – center”

On January 22, 2016, a session of the State Acceptance commission was held in order to check the ability for use of the construction project: “Stabilization of the heel of quay wall of Port terminal Vidin – center” and an Annex No 16 was signed. The project is First category according to Art. 137 from the Spatial Development Act.  The commission consisted of representatives of the Contractor – “Stanilov” Ltd., construction supervision – “Stroynorm” Ltd., designer “Plana- B” Ltd. and specialized controlling organs. The Chairman of the commission was eng. Ivanka Nyagolova – Chief inspector at National Construction Control Department.

The quay wall has a total length of 1440 m and is situated in the central part of the town of Vidin, along the Danube River between кm 789 +500 and km 790 +940.
The main activities for strengthening the facility were the following:
- Coast stabilization with piles across the whole length of the quay wall – piles f273 mm over 1,00 m, made with steel joint – free pipe with 8 m length – 1 067 pieces;
- Reinforcement of support block through blasted rock embankment and reinforced-concrete structure as well as reinforcement of the slope trough reinforced-concrete slab in front of stone masonry: 15 000 m3 embankment, steel bar installation works steel АІ and АІІІ – 250 000 kg, formwork – 8 200 m2 , concrete  В25 – 4 500 m3, rubble concrete – 330 m3;
–   Consolidation of splitted sections through grouting (micropiles with hydrofracture grouting) – 400 nos having length 5m and  и 230 nos having length 6 m;
–   Terrain strengthening and binding of new structure to the ground base behind the wall using IBO anchors having length 12м R32N – 477nos.

After the inspection the Committee members expressed their good impression from the quality of construction, implemented according to the approved designs and legislation requirements.
Eng. Georgi Stanilov pointed out, that the realization of that project was just on time, in order to strengthen the quay wall and to extend the facility’s exploitation period.
