Yadenitsa Dam reversible pressure tunnel

Sub-project: Reversible pressure tunnel with L=690 m and Caisson mobilization excavation and supporting works. Settler for physical purification of construction water. Concrete on the bottom up to 684 m. Depositing of stone filling and extending of pipe culvert DN 1100 mmq 140 m.

The purpose of the pressure tunnel is to connect the lower situated water reservoir of Chaira. Pumping - Accumulation Water Power Station Chaira Dam with Yadenitsa Dam and to increase the volume of the bottom water reservoir and increase of the turbine-generation function of the station. The clear diameter of the tunnel with lining is 7.00 m and total length of 6728.10 m. The contract comprises:

  • Reversible pressure tunnel with L=690 m.q which is measured from the entrance on Yadenitsa Site. Excavation works and lining support.
  • Caisson shaft with H=43.45 m. and diameter of 9.70 up to 10.50 m situated on 166.48 m. distance from the tunnel entrance.;
  • Excavation works and lining support;
  • Complete construction of the site in front of the tunnel entrance including vertical planning.
  • Execution of sites for construction laboratory, concrete plant and steam-power station.
  • Storage for chemical additions, offices for the Contractor, Employer, work-shop.
  • Settler for physical purification of construction water. Offices for the Employer and Contractor and necessary equipment base.
  • Electric power line 20 kV.
  • Underground storage for blasting materials.
